Tutorial # 5 - Doutzen Kroes
From to using PhotoShop CS2.

1) Image > Mode > Lab Color

2) Click on "Channels" next to the "Layer" palette. Click on Lightness.

3) Press Ctrl + A, then Ctrl + C.

4) Close the window and press Ctrl + N. (You cannot do anything to a Lab Colored picture. It would revert back to its original form.)

5) Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness/Contrast

Brightness: +20
Contrast: +35

And voila! Nothing really major happened but your black and white image looks has more depth to it. You can play with the Brightness/Contrast a bit until you get your desired result.

Cropped sharp icon? that make sense?
I think I'm cropping it wrong because when I do it looks stretched.

Crop like you normally do and show me the print screen.

sorry to bug you again.

Oh... I see what's going on. You're trying to fit the whole picture into a 100x100 crop. Since the dimensions aren't the same value (like 500x500 or 450x450), if you try to crop the whole thing, it'll be stretched.

ohh okay. so I can't use this image then?
montivernagemontivernage on September 7th, 2008 08:51 pm (UTC)
You can, but you can only include the main image (without the words). If you want to include the words, then you can make it into a 100xsomething lesser than100.

Maybe I should try this with a photoshoot b&w image?

Sure! Afterwards show me. I'd love to see it.
